Celebrating Software Freedom Day

hmmm…  Today is our day!! yup.. Software freedom day.. So, you may wonder, why Venky is talking about the software freedom!… Coz I deserve to post atleast a paragraph since I finished my RHCE

huh.. RHCE is RedHat Certified Computer Engineer.. That was a wonder ful course where I learnt about that Tux and live with that for more than a year…

zeee, Software freedom day is celebrated to insist the freedom in software usage and not to depend on the properiatry softwares provided by Microsoft, Adobe , so and so..
For each software like this, we have an alternative in Linux.. But we replace the original with more than 3 softwares like Office can be replaced with Open Office, Neo Office, SiagOfiice, etc..
Thats where the problem lies..

When any person is given with umpteen number of options, he may struggle to choose one..
So the opensource developers should follow some standards to put the combine efforts in replacing the properitory softwares with not more than 2 softwares…

Mr. C N Anna Durai

A gem of politicians… He had many visions about the people and their life style.. He was very simple till his death and he was a King maker during his period.. He was the one who gave importance to education… But the Politicians came after him, used his name to grow but not justified his vision..

When he died, It was 15 million people attended his funeral, which is mentioned in Guinness Book Record.

Mr. Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya

Bharat Ratna, Visvesvarayya an engineer contributed to the Nation widely. He implemented great projects to reduce the flood in Karnataka and Hydrabad. He implimented irrigation system for Deccan area. He was Diwan of Mysore during 1908. He was one of the founder of Government Engineering college, Bangalore, One of the first engineering college in India.

We have Visvesvarayya museum in Bangalore depicts the Engineering worth. Indians celebrate Engineers Day on his B’Day..

Salute the 2 Indians and Happy Engineers Day..

Miss u Kunnakudi Vaidhyanadan

The whole world and I got shocked with the news that kunnakudi is no more. The music with out him is incomplete.

Known for his dexterity and subtlety in handling the violin, he caters his art not only to a scholar of music but also to a layman. His play reflects his own different moods and the demands of his audience with whom he establishes and enjoys a good rapport. He dwells with ease and competence in the high as well as the low octaves.

He was awarded the prestigious “Padma Shri” title by the Indian government, “Sangita Mamani”, “Best Music Director” award and more than 200 other awards.

He is no more because of Cardiac arrest.

Major fire in Saravana Stores, Ranganathan Street, T.nagar

Sep 1st was good to many as salary got credited and it’s a day when everyone who get’s paid for their hard end money. But things din’t go well for T.Nagar giant “Saravana Stores”. This morning was usal business for Ranganathan St but then suddenly people and workers in Saravana stores started screaming and running for the lives at 6.00AM as there was a major fire break inside the store.  Fire service was informed immediately and swiftly make it to the begning of the steet. They could not enter the street as it was too narro and top of it the newly constructed bridge has been a major barricate and restricted the movemts inside the street. Some saw that there are three people struck inside the building and they are trying to get them out. This horrifying incident is captures live in media channels like Jaya and Sun and shown live.

I saw the news scroll in Jaya tv at 9.00Am today and also huge gusted flames to a height of 100 ft on air. Which everyone who are around 1-4 kms away can see. I saw the dark smoke on my way to office at Saidapet bridge. I couldn’t take any pics as there was huge traffic.  One of my uncle is working for Metro waters near T.nagar and he was asked to supply 10-12 lorries of water tanker lorries for rescue. Since there are lots of plastic stuff inside the shop it’s been heard that the fire is caught on other shops aswell. I hope everybody makes their way safe and sound and there shouldn’t be casualities. As of now, the cause for the fire is a short circuit on the switches.

FYi, I heard that after the departure of the legendry owner there are lots of disputed in the family and they have split.
